Telegram Ads are short Sponsored Messages (max 160 characters) that you place in public channels (1,000+ subs) you pick. You pay CPM in TON. Your ad’s button must open a Telegram destination: a bot, a public channel, or a public channel post. No groups and no websites.

What Telegram Ads Are (and Aren’t)

Telegram Ads offer a great way to make money on Telegram. These are contextual Sponsored Messages shown only in large public channels you choose. They don’t appear in chats or groups, and don’t use personal data for targeting — placement is based on the channel.

Each ad has a text up to 160 characters long, plus one button. You can add one inline Telegram link in the text (optional), but the text link and button must lead to the same Telegram destination.

External websites aren’t allowed. Premium users don’t see Sponsored Messages.

Is Telegram Ads Right for You?

Good fit: bots and mini‑apps, Web3/crypto, media channels, niche communities — places where users already act inside Telegram. You choose exact channels, keep privacy, and ride high niche engagement.

Limitations: no external links, limited targeting, and Premium users are excluded from impressions. Practitioners also note tracking is basic compared to Meta/Google.

If you need geo or Premium-user reach or off‑Telegram conversions, consider Telegram mini‑app/bot ad networks (e.g., AdsGram) or direct placements in channels alongside Sponsored Messages.

Set Up Your First Sponsored Message (10‑minute flow)

  1. Log in at ads.telegram.org. Choose Personal or Organization.
  2. Create Ad: add Title, Text (≤160), URL (a Telegram link). No external URLs.
  3. Target Channels: paste the @handle / t.me link of each public channel (1,000+ subs) you want. Note: after you create the ad, targeting cannot be changed (use Create similar ad to tweak).
  4. Bid & Budget: start with the minimum CPM of 0.1 TON and set your ad budget. You can always raise CPM or budget later.
  5. Submit: watch statuses (In Review, Active, Declined, On Hold).

Pre‑launch checklist (to avoid declines):

  • Destination (channel/bot) has avatar + filled description.
  • Channel active within the last 2 weeks.
  • If bot, it responds and supports start parameters.

Budget, CPM, and Bidding Playbook

  • Floor: 0.1 TON CPM. Start low to learn a channel’s true clearing price, then raise CPM in small steps if delivery is slow.
  • Budget control: increase/decrease by editing the ad (decrease requires duplicating with lower budget). Targeting edits require a new ad (“Create similar ad”).
  • Payments: Ads are bought with Toncoin (TON); Telegram chose TON for low fees/speed.

Policies You Must Not Break

  • No lists, line breaks, ASCII art, overused emojis, or profanity in ad text. Keep it clear and readable.
  • Links: only one inline link in text is allowed; text link must match the button destination; no URL shorteners/IPs.
  • Prohibited: politics, gambling, weapons, harmful finance, medical claims, drugs, hate, and more. When in doubt, don’t submit.

Copy Templates (Paste & Tweak)

  • Channel intro: “Daily AI tools that save hours. Join @YourChannel for 1‑minute reviews with real examples. See today’s pick.”
  • Mini‑app: “Learn Spanish in Telegram. 5‑minute lessons, real practice. Open the mini‑app → @YourBot”
  • Bot CTA: “AI résumé fixer in Telegram. Paste your CV, get instant edits that pass ATS. Start here → @YourBot”

(Stay under 160 chars, avoid line breaks, keep language and destination consistent.)

Monetize Your Channel with Telegram Ads (50% Revenue Share)

If your public channel has ≥1,000 subscribers, you can receive 50% of ad revenue for ads shown in your channel.

Enable it in Channel Settings → Statistics → Monetization and withdraw via Fragment in TON (no fees).

Note: Telegram also launched Suggested Posts (July 1, 2025) — fans and brands can propose posts and fund them with Stars or TON; creators get paid after posting. Useful for channels of any size.

What is the minimum CPM?

0.1 TON per 1,000 impressions.

Where do ads appear?

Can I change targeting later?

No. Targeting can’t be edited after creation; duplicate the ad to adjust.
