Telegram Web lets you use your Telegram account in a browser. Open web.telegram.org on your computer. Sign in with a QR code if Telegram is already open on your phone, or use your mobile number and a login code. Your regular chats will load without installing the desktop app.
Log in with a QR code
- Open web.telegram.org on the computer and leave its QR code visible. If you see a phone-number form, select Log in by QR Code.
- On your phone, open Telegram and go to Settings > Devices > Add Device. This opens Telegram's QR scanner. Some older versions call the control Link Desktop Device.
- Scan the code on the computer and approve the login if asked. Your chat list should appear in the browser.
Use the scanner inside Telegram, not your phone's ordinary Camera app. If the code expires before you scan it, refresh the login page and scan the new one.
Only scan a login QR code displayed on a computer you control: scanning it can authorize a new session for your account. A shareable QR code for a group, channel, or bot serves a different purpose. Our sister blog has a guide to those Telegram QR codes.
Log in with your phone number
On the Telegram Web login screen, select Log in by phone number. Choose your country, enter the mobile number connected to your Telegram account, and select Next.
The login code may arrive in the verified Telegram chat on another device where you are signed in, rather than by SMS. Enter it on web.telegram.org. If Telegram then asks for a password, enter your account's Two-Step Verification password, not your phone's unlock code.
The Verification Codes chat is for codes from other services. If you are waiting for a Telegram account login code, check the verified Telegram chat first.
What you can do in the browser
Telegram Web loads regular cloud chats. You can message people, participate in groups, use bots, and read channels. Channel owners and admins can post where their permissions allow. Signing in on the computer does not sign you out on your phone, and your phone does not have to stay online after the browser session opens.
Two tasks need a different app:
- Secret Chats: They stay on the device where they were created and will not appear in Telegram Web.
- Chat export: To save a local copy of messages or media, use Telegram Desktop. Our chat export guide shows that route.

WebK or WebA?
WebK and WebA are both official browser clients. Start with web.telegram.org and use the version it opens. If that version shows a blank page or fails to load your chats, try the other one.
Fix common Telegram Web problems

End the browser session
In Telegram Web, open the main menu, select Settings, then Log out. Closing the tab does not end the session.
If you no longer have that computer, open Telegram on your phone and go to Settings > Devices. Select the browser session and terminate it. You can also check that list for devices you do not recognize. Our Telegram logout guide covers the other apps.
If you use a shared computer, end its session before leaving. On your own private computer, you can keep the browser signed in.
